Wenn man für eine Weile in einem anderen Land lebt, fängt man an sein Heimatland mit anderen Augen zu betrachten. Man bemerkt Dinge, die man vorher nie wahrgenommen hat und beginnt diese Dinge/Angewohnheiten/Traditionen dann zu mögen oder abzulehnen. Eine Sache die ich vermissen werde wenn ich wieder in Deutschland bin ist der geringe Respekt vor roten Ampeln. Wenn es irgendwie möglich ist über die Straße zu gehen, wird man es tun - auch wenn es rot ist. Einmal habe ich die Straße zusammen mit zwei Polizisten überquert - und natürlich war die Ampel nicht grün.

When you're living in a foreign country for some time, you start looking on your home country with different eyes. You notice things that you never really saw before and start liking or disliking certain things/habits/traditions. One thing I'll miss when I'm back in Germany is the low respect for red traffic lights. When it's sort of possible to cross the street, you'll do it - even the traffic lights are red. Once I crossed the street together with two police men - and of course it wasn't a green light for us.



Ihr werdet es kaum glauben (es geschehen noch Zeichen und Wunder!) aber ich habe mir meine erste Jeans seit etwa 2 Jahren gekauft! Ich hatte irgendwie das Bedürfnis und dachte, ich bräuchte eine...meine Mitbewohnerinnen waren milde geschockt, ebenso meine Arbeitskollegen, mich heute in Jeans zu sehen.

You'll hardly believe it (miracles do happen!) but I bought my first jeans for 2 years! I somehow felt the need of owning a pair...my house mates were slightly shocked, as well as my co-workers to see me wearing jeans today.
