Ich hatte einen ganz wunderbaren Nachmittag gestern! 9 Leute waren bei mir zu Besuch zu einer Tauschparty, die es in sich hatte: Klamotten, Lebensmittel, Bücher, Make Up, Deko, alles mögliche wurde mitgebracht und getauscht. Es war einfach lustig und entspannt und absolut wiederholungswürdig - auch wenn natürlich jetzt erst wieder Zeug zum Tauschen angesammelt werden muss.



I had the most wonderful afternoon yesterday! 9 people came over to our flat for a swap party which was the largest party I've had before: clothes, food, books, make up, decoration, people just brought everything and we swapped everything. It was fun and relaxed and totally worth repeating - even though we first need to collect stuff for swapping again!



Weiterhin fällt euch vielleicht auf, dass meine Haare ein ganzes Stück kürzer sind! Es war mal wieder Zeit für was neues und so war ich am Donnerstag beim Friseur und auch wenn ich mich erst noch daran gewöhnen muss, finde ich es doch super!



Maybe you are also noticing that my hair is quite a bit shorter! It was simply time for something new again and so I went to the hair dresser on Thursday. Even though I still need to get used to it, I do like it a lot!

Das Einzige, was mich davon abhält, unsere ganze Wohnung mit Pflanzen vollzustellen sind unsere Katzen - Pflanzen werden gnadenlos angenagt und deshalb habe ich Pflanzen derzeit nur in der Küche (da dürfen die nicht rein) und zwischen Fenstern. Trotz allem mache ich sehr gern DIYs mit Pflanzen und dachte, ich gebe euch mal einen kleinen Überblick über vergangene Projekte!



The only thing keeping me from plastering our whole flat with plants is the cats - they will just chew on all the plans which is why I only have them in the kitchen (the cat's no go area) and hidden away between windows. Despite this, I do have a soft spot for plant-related DIYs and thought I'd do a little round up of old projects for you!


Wenn man Tiere und/oder Kinder zuhause hat und die Pflanzen wegschließen muss, machen sich doppelte Altbaufenster ganz wunderbar! // If you have animals and/or kids at home and need to lock away the plants, double windows - often found in old buildings - are perfect!

Auch in der kleinsten Küche kann man Kräuter anbauen, dazu braucht man auch kein aufwändiges Eqipment - hier haben wir eine Möhrenschale benutzt! // Even in the smallest kitchen, you can grow herbs, you don't even need expensive equipment - here we used vegetable packaging!

Nicht jede Pflanze verträgt jedoch direktes Sonnenlicht, da immer die Anweisungen checken. Für einen selbst ist direktes Sonnenlicht ja auch nicht immer angenehm - wer kann, sollte sich daher Rollos gönnen, welche das Leben für Mensch (und Pflanze) im Sommer viel erträglicher machen! Velux hat viele verschiedene Rollos im Angebot und sicher für jeden etwas Passende!

Not every plant can deal with direct sunlight, so make sure to always check instructions at the back. After all, direct sunlight can also be unpleasant for yourself - if you can, you should therefore take a look at blinds which make life for humans (and plants) much more bearable during the hot months! Velux has several different blinds on offer and surely the right thing for you!

Oder wie wäre es mit nachwachsenden Frühlingszwiebeln? Dafür braucht man nur ein Glas! // Or how about regrowing spring onions? You only need a glass for that!


Schachteln mit einer gewissen Tiefe lassen sich ganz wunderbar bepflanzen - es müssen nicht immer Töpfe sein! // Boxes with a certain depth are wonderful for housing plants - it doesn't always have to be pots!

Oder gleich Tassen und Gummistiefel bepflanzen! // Or you go all the way and plant into cups and wellies! 


Und wenn es doch mal Töpfe sein sollen, kann man sie auch verschönern, so wie diese hier. // And when you really do want pots, you can make them look a little prettier, like these.

Ein neuer Samstag, ein neues Outfit - jetzt, wo es so früh schon spät wird, kann ich unter der Woche gar keine Bilder mehr machen und hoffe auf gutes Wetter am Samstag. Ein echter Nachteil im Winter für alle Neben-der-Arbeit-Blogger! Heute hat alles gepasst und es ging mal wieder in den Park.



A new Saturday, a new outfit - now that it gets dark so early, I can't really take outfit photos during th week and always hope for good weather on Saturday. A real disadvantage in winter for all besides-work-bloggers! Today, everything was fine and we went to the park again.



Der Rock, den ich da trage, ist neu - nicht wirklich, hier die Story: eine Kollegin kam letztens mit einer Tasche voll Klamotten zur Arbeit, die sie gern loswerden wollte. Hui, was habe ich mich gefreut! Unter anderem habe ich diesen Rock erbeutet, den ich heute schon zum dritten Mal trage und der Potential zum echten Lieblingsteil hat: super Länge, universelle Farbe und Taschen! Happy Kati.



The skirt that I'm wearing is new - well, not really, here's the story: a colleague came to work the other day with a large bag full of clothes she wanted to get rid of. Oh dear, what was I excited! Es ist so kalt geworden, dass jetzt das ganze warme Zeug aus dem Kleiderschrank geholt wird - Ponchos, Jacken, Mützen. An Ponchos liebe ich so, dass man sich so schön reinkuscheln kann und den so falten kann, wie man gerade braucht! Der auf den Fotos ist von zaful und schön warm und kuschelig.



It has become so cold that all the warm stuff has been taken out of the storage boxes - ponchos, jackets, coats, hats. What I like about ponchos is that you can snuggle in this enormous pile of fabric and fold it the way you just want it! The one on the photos is from zaful and nice and warm and cosy.



Rückblickend hätte ich vielleicht lieber ein schmales, unifarbenes Kleid anziehen sollen, aber hey, ich wollte euch deswegen das Outfit nicht vorenthalten. Wie handhabt ihr das mit Outfits, die ihr dann doch nicht mehr sooo schön findet?



Looking back I should have combined a slim, solid-coloured dress with the poncho but hey, I didn't not want to publish this outfit for that reason. How do you fellow bloggers do that when you are not over the moon anymore with an outfit?

Ich hoffe ihr hattet eine wunderbare Woche! Dieses Wochenende gehe ich zu drei Geburtstagen und einer Hausparty, kann mich also über Langeweile nicht beschweren. Solange ich meinen Sonntag Abend auf der Couch mit den Jungs habe, mische ich mich aber auch gern mal unter Leute...



I hope you all had a wonderful week! I'll be going to three different birthdays as well as a house party this weekend, so can't really complain about boredom. As long as I can spend my Sunday evening on the sofa with my boys, I'm happy to mingle with people sometimes...



Die Bluse ist neu und passt ganz wunderbar zu meinem karierten second hand-Rock, wie ich finde! Dunkelblau geht ja immer meiner Meinung nach - habt ihr auch so Farben, auf die ihr im Zweifel immer zurückgreift? Gekauft habe ich sie hier online (bei dem Wetter geht ja kein Hund aus dem Haus!). Dazu die JustFab-Tasche und ab geht's ins Büro. Eine Kombi, die ich wahrscheinlich auch noch in 10 Jahren toll finden werde.



The blouse is new and goes very well with my checked second hand skirt, I think! Dark blue always goes if you ask me - do you also have such colours you always resort back to? I bought it here online (in this weather, really no one wants to leave the house!). Combined with it the JustFab bag and off to the office I am. A combination that I will probably still be liking in 10 years' time.
