Wie ihr wisst, bin ich grad bei meiner Ma an der Ostsee und lass mir die Sonne auf den Bauch scheinen, steck die Füße (nur kurz) ins Meer und lass die Seele baumeln. Für euch gibt's Outfitbilder vom Dienstag - na, ist das nicht was?



As you know, I'm at my mum's place at the moment at the Baltic Sea and enjoy the sun, put my feet into the water (just shortly though) and just relax. For you, I have outfit shots from Tuesday - good, huh?



Am Dienstag bin ich viel rumgerannt und wollte es bequem haben: Baumarkt, Finanzamt, Schuhmacher, Post und Supermarkt waren nur einige meiner Anlaufpunkte. Cardigan, Poloshirt (kennt ihr schon von hier) und Gürtel sind second hand, das Kleid relativ neu aus dem H&M.
Meine Ma und ich fahren morgen zum Geburtstag meiner Oma, und am Sonntag kriege ich Besuch von einer Freundin, mit der ich dann zu einem Reitturnier fahre (nur zugucken). Was habt ihr am Wochenende so vor?



On Tuesday, I ran around a lot and wanted it to be comfortable: DIY store, tax office, shoemaker, post office and supermarket were only some of my stops. Cardigan, polo shirt (you've seen it here before) and belt are second hand, the dress is relatively new and from H&M.
My mum and I'll drive to my grand-ma's birthday tomorrow, and on Sunday a friend stays at my place and we'll go to a riding competition (just for watching though). What are your plans for the weekend?

Heute zeige ich euch mal, wie ich immer meinen Pony style. Einer meiner Bedenken vor dem Friseurbesuch war es, dass so ein Pony sehr aufwändig sein würde. Jeden Tag waschen, glätten, dann kommt der Wind und er liegt nicht...so halt. Aber eigentlich ist das alles easy-peasy, und falls es das Stylen ist das euch vom Schneiden eines Ponys abhält, dann habt ihr jetzt keine Ausrede mehr! Direkt nach dem Waschen den Pony nach vorne kämmen. Ganz wichtig, damit eventuelle Wirbel gar nicht erst aufmucken können!

Today I'll show you how I always style my fringe. One of my concerns before having it cut was that a fringe would be high maintenance. Wash it every day, straighten it, then comes the wind and destroys everything...things like that. But you know, actually it's super easy and if it is the styling that keeps you from getting a fringe, too, then you'll have no excuses anymore! Directly after washing, comb the fringe to the front. Really important, because if you have whorls then you'll be taming them with that!



Jetzt entweder trocken föhnen oder an der Luft trocknen lassen - wenn ich die zweite Variante nehme, kämme ich zwischendurch den Pony immer wieder glatt, sonst habe ich ganz schnell Wellen, die ich nicht will und muss nachher mehr Hitze verwenden. Bei erster Variante: zuerst Hitzeschutzspray aufsprühen, dann auch beim Föhnen schon glatt nach vorn durchkämmen!

Now either blow dry or let your fringe air dry - if I choose the latter option I comb the fringe through from time to time, otherwise I have waves quickly that I don't want and will need to use more heat later. If you choose the second option: first, spray on heat protection spray, and then keep on combing to the front while blow drying!





So sieht's jetzt aus. Theoretisch könnte man so schon das Haus verlassen zum Brötchen-Kaufen, wenn's aber mehr sein soll, glätte ich den Pony. Mit einem feinen Kamm durchkämmen, Strähne für Strähne glätten.

This is how it looks at this stage. Basically, you could leave the house like that to get fresh bread rolls, but if you want a little more, straighten the fringe. Comb through with a fine comb, straighten strand by strand.





Zum Schluss alles mit Haarlack besprühen (hält bombenfest!) und ihr seid fertig!

At the end, spray everything with strong hair spray (keeps like super glue!) and you're done!





Für zwischendurch habe ich immer einen Kamm in meiner Tasche, vor allem bei den Frühlingsstürmen oder nach dem Radfahren ist es gut, kurz wieder Ordnung reinbringen zu können. Ihr seht, alles einfach. Also los, ab zum Friseur mit euch!

For on-the-go I always have a comb in my handbag, especially now with the spring winds and after cycling it's always good to have the opportunity to sort the fringe out a bit. You see, it's all nice and easy. So, book an appointment now!

Mal wieder bin ich glücklich, dass meine Ma und ich dieselbe Größe haben - das Poloshirt sowie auch der Rock sind eigentlich von ihr! Den Rock hatte sie damals selbst genäht, und ich habe ihn jetzt nur noch auf meine favorisierte Länge gekürzt. Toll, oder, wenn Sachen in der Familie bleiben (und es ist wie shoppen für umme)!



Again, I'm so happy that my mum and I share the same size - this polo shirt as well as the skirt have been hers! She made the skirt herself back then and I simply shortened it to my desired length. Isn't it great when clothes stay in the family (and it's like shopping for free)!



Lasst euch von den idyllischen Fotos nicht täuschen - die Mücken waren in dem Wald wie wild, und irgendwann sind Aidan und ich Halsüberkopf geflüchtet. Wirklich, wir sind gerannt. Nicht sehr elegant! Im Schlepptau hatten wir noch mein neues Fahrrad, welches das nicht-mehr-gewollte meiner Oma ist und das wir an dem Tag abgeholt haben. Wir waren also eine lustige Truppe, die da durch den Wald geflüchtet ist!



Don't be deceived by these idyllic photos - the mosquitos were like crazy in this forest and then there came the point where Aidan and I just fled head over heels. Seriously, we ran. Not very elegant! In tow we had my new bike which was a bike my grand-ma didn't need anymore and that we had picked up that day. So we were quite the funny group that ran through the forest!

Ich liebe es, Briefe zu schreiben, Fotoalben zu kleben, kleine Pakete zu schnüren mit allerlei Tollem drin und auch meine (manchmal ungeliebte) Schreibtisch-Arbeit zu verschönern. Geht ganz einfach mit Stoffklebeband, welches man selber machen kann! Ihr braucht Stoff und doppelseitiges Klebeband.

I love writing letters, scrapbooking, packing small parcels with all kind of good stuff as well as prettifying my (sometimes unloved) paperwork. So easy with fabric tape which you can easily make yourself! You'll need: fabric and double-sided tape.



Einfach das Klebeband mit einer Seite auf die linke Seite des Stoffs kleben und rundherum ausschneiden. Schon fertig! Da sind erklärende Worte eigentlich gar nicht notwendig...

Simply adhere the tape with one side to the left side of your fabric and cut around it. And done! It's so easy, explaining words are actually not even necessary...




Hier wurde das Tape benutzt, um eine Katinka-Bestellung zu verschönern! Sonst gibt es natürlich unzählige weitere Anwendungsgebiete - wofür würdet ihr es denn verwenden?

Manchmal bekomme ich von Freunden die Frage gestellt, warum ich eigentlich blogge, da ich soviel Zeit dafür aufwende (momentan etwa zwei Stunden am Tag) und doch nichts dabei rauskommt, so richtig. Tja, eine gute Frage. Warum liebe ich das bloggen und stopfe meine Freizeit damit voll?

Sometimes, I get asked by friends why I actually blog as I spend a lot of time for it (at the moment, about two hours a day) and at the end of the day, I wouldn't get anything out of it. Well, good question. Why do I love blogging and spend my free time doing it?



1. Die Gemeinschaft. Jeder Blogger ist Teil einer großen, herzlichen Gemeinschaft, bei der es natürlich auch Konkurrenz, aber vor allem Freundschaft gibt. Liebe Kommentare durchzulesen zaubert mir immer ein Lächeln aufs Gesicht, und ich finde es toll, so vernetzt zu sein und Leute aus vielen anderen Ländern zu kennen!



1. The community. Every blogger is part of a large, friendly community that of course also has competition within it, but mainly friendship. Reading all your cute comments makes me smile every time without fail, and I think it's great so be so networked and know people from all over the world!



2. Anregung. Wenn ich weiß, dass ich ein Projekt bloggen kann, nehme wahrscheinlich ich mehr Mühe auf mich, z. Bsp. bei DIYs, die sonst nicht entstanden wären aus mangelnder Motivation, sie anzufangen, oder bei Outfits, bei denen ich mir ein paar Minuten mehr nehme, um sie zusammenzustellen und nicht nur auf bewährte Kombis zurückgreife. Kurz: es macht mein persönliches Leben interessanter!



2. Encouragement. When I know that I can blog about a certain project I'm likely to put more effort into it, for example with DIYs that wouldn't otherwise have been realised due to lack of motivation, or with outfits with which I take some more minutes in the morning to put them together and not just rely on tried and tested combinations. In short: it makes my personal life more interesting! 



3. Inspiration. Wie hier schon erwähnt, sind Blogs für mich die beste Inspiration überhaupt, sei es Kleidung, Rezepte, DIYs etc. Durch Kommentare von anderen Bloggern entdeckt man immer wieder neue Blogs, die man sonst verpasst hätte!



3. Inspiration. As mentioned here before, blogs are the best inspiration for me ever, whether it's outfits, recipes, DIYs etc. Through comments from other bloggers I always discover new blogs that I would have otherwise missed!



4. Fotografie. Ohne das bloggen würde ich sehr wahrscheinlich weniger Fotos machen von all dem Unsinn, den ich so treibe. Ich freue mich über die vielen Fotos des täglichen Lebens, die ich in 40 Jahren sicher sehr schätzen werde!



4. Photography. Without blogging, I would surely take way less pictures of all the nonsense I'm doing all the time. I'm really happy about all these photos of daily life and I'm sure I'll appreciate them in 40 years time!

Das Outfit hatte ich, wie ihr bestimmt gesehen habt, gestern für ein kleines Fotoshooting an - meine Schwester und ich planen ein Geschenk für unsere Oma, und wir brauchten unbedingt aktuelle Fotos von uns mit unseren Männern. Das Shirt ist eigentlich ein Männershirt, gekauft nur zum Knoten! Meine anderen Shirts haben einfach zu wenig Stoff...




As you have maybe seen, I wore this outfit for a little photo shoot yesterday - my sister and I are planning on a nice birthday present for our grand-ma and we really needed new photos of us with our men. This shirt is actually a men's shirt and I bought it only to knot it! My other shirts simply don't have enough fabric...



Aidan und ich machen uns gleich auf den Weg zu meinen Großeltern, ich hole das alte Fahrrad meiner Oma nach Berlin. Endlich (!) habe ich dann hier ein Radl, und Aidan und ich können zusammen rumkurven. Das wird ein guter Sommer. Euch ein super Wochenende!



Aidan and I will be on the way to my grand-parents soon, we'll pick up the old bike from my grand-ma and take it to Berlin. Finally (!) I'll have a bike here and Aidan and I can cycle around together. That will be a good summer. Have a great weekend everyone!

Heute war ich sehr produktiv, meine to-do-Liste ist wunderbar (fast) abgearbeitet und ich muss nur noch schnell zur Post, ein paar Briefe abgeben - so sehr praktisch E-Mails auch sind, es gibt nichts Schöneres als Briefe! Dann muss ich aber aufräumen und anfangen, alles für heute Abend vorzubereiten. Ein paar Freunde kommen vorbei und ich koche einen Riesenteller Nudeln mit Spargel sowie Cupcakes zum Nachtisch, ich freu mich schon!




I was super productive today, my to do list is (almost) completely crossed out and I just have to go to the post office quickly, sending some letters - as practical as e-mails are, there is nothing better that receiving letters! Then I need to hurry and start preparing everything for tonight. Some friends are going to come over and I'll make a massive amount of pasta with asparagus as well as cupcakes for dessert, I'm so excited!
