Ganz in unserer Nähe ist ein Hafen - wunderschön und mitten in der Stadt! Natürlich auch toll als Fotohintergrund, ich achte auf so etwas ja immer mit einem Auge drauf. Wie man sieht, sind die Temperaturen immer noch unten und es windet. Ich find's toll, so kann ich meine ganzen Übergangsjacken wieder tragen!



Really close to our place there is a harbour - it's beautiful and in the middle of the city! Of course it's also great as a photo background, I always look for those when I'm around! As you can see, the temperatures are still down and it's windy. I like it as it means I can wear all my light jackets again!




Der Mantel war Teil eines Sets mit passendem Kleid, welches ich vor ein paar Wochen bei Humana erstanden habe. Ich liebe solche leichten Mäntel, die man einfach über Kleidern tragen kann. Und für 1,50€ (inklusive Kleid) war er auch noch ein tolles Schnäppchen!




The coat was part of a set that came with a matching dress which I've bought at Humana a couple of weeks ago. I love such light coats that you can easily wear over dresses. And for 1.50€ (including the dress) it was also a true bargain!

Leute, ich liebe Aubergine total, und beim Inder bestelle ich auch fast immer Aubergine. Da man (sprich: ich) leider nicht jede Woche Indisch essen gehen kann, habe ich versucht das Ganze nachzukochen. Dazu Zwiebeln, Aubergine und Möhren schnippeln und anbraten. Auch schon den Reis ansetzen.



You guys, I love aubergine and everytime we go out for Indian food I will order something with aubergine. But because one (means: me) can't go out for dinner every week, I tried to recreate the whole shebang. First I cut up an onion, carrots and an aubergine. Fry and also start cooking the rice.



Jetzt das Ganze mit Salz, Pfeffer, Chiliflakes, Paprika und Tandoori Masala (macht das Leben so viel einfacher!) würzen.



Now season with salt, pepper, chili flakes, paprika and Tandoori Masala (makes life so much easier!).



Jetzt eine Dose gestückelte Tomaten hinzu, eindicken lassen und nochmals würzen. Der Reis ist jetzt auch fertig und nun muss das Ganze nur noch serviert werden. Guten Appetit!

Now add a tin of chopped tomatoes, let it thicken for a bit and season to taste. The rice should be cooked now as well and now you just need to serve everything. Enjoy!

Oh ja. Ein ganz einfacher Weg, um aus Cardigans und Blusen und Shirts noch mehr rauszuholen. Ich habe nicht allzu viel Klamotten (jaja, ich höre euch schon lachen) und find es daher immer toll, ein Teil auf verschiedene Art und Weise zu tragen. Hier also ein paar Beispiele!

Das Wetter ist hier ja merklich abgekühlt - zum Glück! Endlich kann ich wieder Strumpfhosen und Schichten tragen, das liegt mir doch sehr viel mehr. Die tolle Kette habe ich von einer Freundin zum Geburtstag bekommen, ist die nicht toll (also beides - Kette und Freundin)?




The weather has noticebly cooled down here - good for me! Finally, I can wear tights and layers again, this is way more up my street. I got this great necklace as a birthday gift from a friend - isn't it great (both - the necklace and the friend)?




Während ich schreibe, merke ich wie sich der Muskelkater ausbreitet. Ich hatte gestern Reitstunde auf meiner neuen Reitbeteiligung (yay!) und wurde hart rangenommen! War anstrengend, aber auch echt super und lehrreich. Gut, ich langweile euch mal nicht weiter damit. Habt noch einen tollen Tag, Kinners!



Whilst I'm typing I'm noticing how my muscles are getting sore and aching. Yesterday I had a lesson on my new share horse (yay!) and it was really hard! So exhausting, but also really good and I learned lots. Alright, I'll stop boring you now. Have a great day!

Meine Lieben, übers Wochenende bin ich bei einer großen Familienfeier und genieße die Sonne. Für euch gibt's heute einen kleinen Einblick in mein Rumgeschmiere, wie ich es gern liebevoll nenne! Ab und zu überfällt mich die Lust und ich male so ein bisschen rum - und das kommt dabei raus.

You guys, I'm spending my weekend at a family party and enjoy the sun. For you I have a little insight into my scrawl as I lovingly like to call it! Sometimes I feel like it and just paint a little - and these are some of the results.

Letztens waren Aidan und ich auf dem Neuköllner Markt einkaufen - Stoffe und Lebensmittel, mehr braucht's nicht im Leben! Ziemlich warm war's daher mal wieder ein strumpfhosenloses Outfit. Der Rock ist selbstgenäht (Tutorial hier) und der Rest nicht sonderlich spektakulär. Aber hey, es waren über 30°C!



The other day, Aidan and I went shopping on a market in Neukölln (Berlin) - fabrics and food, I don't need more than that in life! It was really warm, that's why here's an outfit sans tights again. I made the skirt myself (see tutorial here) and the rest is not very spectacular. But hey, it's been over 30°C!




Morgen geht es für mich wieder auf Reisen, dieses Wochenende zum Familiengeburtstag. Habt ein paar tolle (hoffentlich) freie Tage!




Tomorrow I'm going to travel again, this weekend I'll be spending at a family birthday. Have some great (hopefully) free days!

Gepresste Blumen (erinnert ihr euch?). Blauer Himmel und Affenhitze. Selbstgepflückte Kirschen.

Dieses praktische Schubladending stammt auch aus meinem Elternhaus und obwohl ich es so unendlich praktisch fand, fand ich es auch etwas hässlich, so wie es war. Wasserflecken sind nicht so meins. Ran ging's also ans Basteln!

This very practical chest of drawers is also from my parents' house and even though I thought it was so incredibly handy, I also thought it was a bit ugly as it was. Water stains are just not my kind of thing. So I went ahead and got crafty!





Zuerst wollte ich die Schubladen einkleiden. Dazu die Vorderseite auf ein Blatt Papier legen und die Umrisse sowie das Loch nachzeichnen (schwarze Linien). Dann die Linien verlängern und wegschneiden (im Bild die roten Linien).

Firstly I wanted to cover the drawers. To do this, I put the front onto a piece of paper and drew around the outside as well as the hole (black lines). Then extend the lines and cut away (the red lines in the picture).






Jetzt die Vorderfläche auf die Schublade kleben und darauf achten, dass die Löcher übereinander sind. Das eingeschnittene Papier nach innen biegen und mit Klebeband befestigen - wie man sieht, habe ich dazu die Schublade auseinandergefaltet, damit ich besser rankomme.

Now stick the paper onto the front of the drawer and make sure that the two holes are aligned. Fold the cuts in the paper inwards and adhere with tape - as you can see, I unfolded the drawer a bit for that so I could reach it better.




Jetzt alle Seiten festkleben.

Now adhere all the sides.



Die Oberfläche habe ich mit einem Rest Geschenkpapier beklebt, den ich mal von meiner lieben Schwester bekommen habe. Die überstehenden Enden mit einem Cuttermesser wegschneiden.

I covered the surface with a bit of wrapping paper that I had once gotten from my beloved sister. Cut away the excess with a stanley knife.




Zuletzt habe ich aus dem überschüssigen Geschenkpapier sowie laminiertem weißen Papier kleine Schildchen geschnitten. Die weißen Labels beschriften und mit doppelseitigem Klebeband befestigen - so kriegt man sie wieder ab, sollte man umsortieren!

At last, I cut labels from the left over wrapping paper as well as white laminated paper. I labelled the labels (ha!) and adhered them using double sided tape - if I ever want to reorganise the chest of drawers, I can easily remove them!





Und fertig! Ein fast neues Schubladenregal für nur ein paar Cent!

And done! An almost new chest of drawers for almost no money!
