Banushi: Vegan Banana Snack Bites

4/29/2014 04:46:00 pm

Puff pastry is beloved by me, and banana and chocolate anyways. Everything combined can only be good, right? So when I found this recipe, I really wanted to try it but since I'm a lazy person sometimes, I made the recipe a little easier. You'll need: puff pastry without butter, peanut butter, bananas, vegan chocolate.

Firstly, cut the puff pastry into strips; spread the peanut butter on them. Put a piece of banana and chocolate onto the top and roll the whole shebang so you have nice, little rolls.

The whole thing then goes in the oven. Use the temperature recommendations on your puff pastry - regarding the time, I simply always looked into the oven to see when the Banushi would have the perfect colour. Serve and enjoy (plate from Witt Weiden).

Edit: not all puff pastries you can buy are vegan - this one from Henglein is though. Most of them have butter in them - so have a close look!

  12. I've never had vegan chocolate. While I'm a vegetarian, I did know a kid in high school that was vegan. Then I saw him eating a candy bar. Had to tell him that chocolate bar was obviously made with milk.
