Spiced Banana Bread

11/11/2013 04:35:00 pm

It is cold, windy and rainy outside - in short: unpleasant. It is then a wise decision to get cuddle up inside, maybe even with a cake that matches the season and gives some warmth. If (like me) you have overripe bananas laying around, the choice is made pretty quickly: spiced banana bread!

I have used this recipe here and halved it as I had only two brown bananas lying around. Additionally, I put in some ginger as well as a handful of walnuts and reduced the nutmeg a little. The bread just tastes heavenly and is, together with a cup of coffee, the perfect thing on a grey day!

  4. This bread sounds so delicious! I have never had spiced banana bread... I think banana bread in the states tends to just be sweet. I think I'd like this version a lot-- I love ginger!
