Dieses Jahr war ein besonderes Jahr für mich Shopping-Tier: ich habe gänzlich auf shoppen in "normalen" Läden verzichtet. Außer Unterwäsche und Strumpfhosen wollte ich nichts neues kaufen - es gibt schon viel zu viel Kempel auf dieser Welt, und ich wollte diesen Kreislauf nicht noch weiter ankurbeln. Stattdessen war ich auf ebay (selten) und in charity shops (viel) unterwegs. Ganze 10 Monate habe ich nun schon durchgehalten, und ich will das Jahr auch unbedingt vervollständigen!

This year was a special year for me, the shopping friend: I completely forewent shopping in 'normal' stores. Besides underwear and tights, I did not want to buy anything new - there already is way too much clutter in this world, and I didn't want to boost this system even further. Instead, I used ebay (rarely) and charity shops (often). I've already made it for whole 10 months, and I am determined to complete this year!



Ich bin sehr stolz auf mich, und musste mich manchmal stark zusammenreißen, vor allem wenn ich mit Freunden unterwegs war, die dann selbst shoppen konnten in der Einkaufsmeile. Aber ich habe and 'große Ganze' gedacht, an die ganzen Müllhalden voll alter Klamotten, die Produktionsbedingungen in vielen Fabriken, diesen Wahnsinn im allgemeinen, jeden Monat neue Klamotten zu haben. Ich hatte viel Spaß dabei, verschiedenste charity shops zu besuchen, und hab dabei auch ne Menge Moos gespart.



I'm very proud of myself, as I had to seriously pull myself together, especially when I was about with friends that could shop in the High Street. But I thought of the 'Greater Good', all these landfills full of old clothes, the production conditions in many factories, this craziness in general to have new clothes every month. I had a lot of fun sourcing various charity shops, and have also saved a lot of moolah. 



Ich möchte niemanden, der gerne in Kettenläden shoppen geht, beleidigen oder einschüchtern - ich mag es ja auch! Aber auf neue Dinge zu verzichten ließ mich die Klamotten, die ich bereits hatte und die es in charity shops gibt, viel mehr wertschätzen. Nicht immer besonders trendy, aber ich bin auch keine wirklich trendige Person - ich glaube, mein Stil hat sich seit Jahren schon nicht mehr verändert! Wer macht mit, und verzichtet die letzten beiden Monate des Jahres auf "normales" Shopping?

I don't want to insult or intimidate anyone who shops at malls and enjoys it - I would, too! But not buying new things all the time made me appreciate the clothes I already had, as well as the clothes that are available at charity shops. Not always the most trendiest, but then, I'm not the most trendiest person anyways - I don't think my style has changed within the last years! So, who takes part and won't do 'normal' shopping for the last two months of this year?
