Here's an Idea: DIY Pompom Rug

As you can see, there is already a (of course DIYed) changing top on our regular bedroom chest of drawers (originally IKEA, bought via small ads). Somehow I wanted to emphasize the place a bit more and make standing there more comfortable - a pompom rug seemed to be the best choice! You need: carpet slip protection (available at the DIY store) and much, much, much wool according to your wishes and colour palette.

Now make loads and loads and loads of pompoms - I'm sure you know how to do that. If not, take a look at YouTube, that's the easiest way. I've spent several evenings doing this whilst watching a film or listening to an audiobook. If you have tons, arrange them on the carpet to see which colour you need more of or if the amount is generally sufficient. To make the rug comfortable, you have to pack them quite tight, so it is better to make more than less!

Now sew on the pompons on the back and knot them. I did this individually for each pompom and always pulled the thread through the wool thread, which also holds the pompom together to keep the rug stable. Doesn't it look beautiful?
