Nächste Woche um diese Uhrzeit wird Aidan schon ein paar Stunden in Deutschland sein - ich kann's kaum erwarten! Eine Fernbeziehung hat ihre offensichtlichen Nachteile: man sieht sich selten, ist aufs Telefon angewiesen und verbringt weniger Zeit miteinander als getrennt. Aber es hat auch Vorteile (die, zugegebenermaßen, im Vergleich zu den Nachteilen eher dürftig sind, aber an irgendetwas muss ich mich ja erfreuen): man sieht sich nicht als selbstverständlich an, ist zwei Wochen bevor man sich sieht schon in Vorfreude, wird sicher tendenziell nicht wegen des Abwaschs oder Socken-Rumliegen streiten und man macht jeden zweiten Monat einen Abstecher in ein anderes Land. Das hat auch was für sich!



Next week around this time Aidan will be in Germany - I can't wait! A long-distance relationship has its obvious disadvantages: you see each other rarely, are dependent on the phone and spend more time seperated from each other then together. But, there are advantages (which are, admittedly, exiguous in comparison to the disadvantages): you don't take each other for granted, are in great anticipation two weeks before you see each other, probably won't have fights because of the washing up and go on a little journey to another country every other month. There's something to be said for that!
