Ich mag ja diese Infinity-/Loopschals so sehr, die es ja glücklicherweise mittlerweile überall zu kaufen gibt! Zuhause lag bei mir noch ein Schal rum (hab ja nicht soviele), der durch seine unglückliche Länge selten von mir getragen wurde - also hab ich ihn kurzerhand 'verwandelt'. Dazu brauchte ich nur einen Schal/Tuch, Stecknadeln sowie Nadel und Faden.



I do really like these infinity or loop scarves that you can luckily now get practically everywhere! I had a scarf laying around at home (I don't have that many) that I hardly ever wore because of its weird length - so I just used that for an experiment. I only needed that scarf, pins as well as needle and thread.



Ich hab einfach die Enden festgesteckt und zusammengenäht - und der 'neue' Loop-Schal ist wunderbar zu tragen und wird jetzt sicherlich viel häufiger benutzt als vorher! Ist zwar keine geniale Idee, aber ich wollte sie dann doch mit euch teilen...




I simply pinned the ends together and sewed them - the 'new' loop scarf is so nice to wear and will surely be used so much more often than before! I know it's not a genius idea but I still wanted to share it with you...

Erdbeerzeit! Schönstes Kleid (noch zu bügeln). Langmiez.

Da mir 35°C zu warm zum Posen sind, gibt es heute noch ein Nachzügler-Outfit aus Mallorca! Wir waren ja letzten November dort, und das Wetter war perfekt für Cardigan und Strumpfhose. Dise Bilder sind an unserem ersten Abend dort entstanden...ist der Sonnenuntergang nicht wunderschön?



Since 35°C are too warm to pose (at least for me), I'll show you another outfit from our Majorca trip! You may remember, we went there last November and the weather was perfect for cardigans and tights. We took these photos on our first evening there...isn't the setting sun beautiful?



Das Kleid war ein 1-€-Schnäppchen aus dem Second Hand und die Tasche stammt aus dem Etsy-Shop Two Tickets. Gerade war ich bei einer meiner besten Freundinnen, die am Sonntag Mama geworden ist! Die Kleine ist unglaublich süß...später geht es noch Inline-Skaten mit einer anderen Freundin. Euch einen tollen Abend!



The dress was a 1 € bargain from the second hand store and the bag is from the etsy shop Two Tickets. I have just visited one of my best friends who has become a mum on Sunday! Warnung: dies wird ein langer Post! Die Kissenhülle ist nicht schwer zu nähen, aber schwer zu erklären teilweise, deshalb gibt es viele Bilder...ihr braucht: viele gern bunt gemusterte Stoffreste, unifarbenen Stoff (etwa 60 x 70cm), Kissen (meines ist 50 x 50 cm), Schere, Pappe, Nadel/Nähmaschine und Faden, Stecknadeln.



Warning: this is going to be a long post! It is not difficult to sew this pillowcase but it is difficult to explain at points and therefore needs plenty of pictures...you'll need: preferably colourfully patterned fabric scraps,  plain piece of fabric (approx. 60 x 70 cm), inner pillow (mine is 50 x 50 cm), scissors, cardboard, needle/sewing machine and thread, pins.



1. Zuerst messen, wie groß die Hülle sein muss - da das Kissen ja 'aufgeplustert' ist, wird dies mehr sein als die angegebene Breite x Höhe. Ich komme auf 54 cm, d.h. die Kissenhülle muss dann auch 54 x 54 cm groß sein. Um die Größe der Quadrate zu ermitteln, habe ich noch in Betracht gezogen, dass jedes Quadrat jeweils an den Seiten 1 cm Nahtzugabe braucht. Da ich drei Quadrate pro Reihe/Spalte wollte, habe ich 20 x 20 cm pro Quadrat genommen; wenn man davon jeweils die Nahtzugaben, kommt man auf 54 cm. Wenn man sich aus Pappe eine Schablone schneidet, geht das ausschneiden auch ganz fix!

1. Firstly measure how large the pillowcase has to be - since the pillow is 'fluffed up', this will be larger than the height x width on the pillow itself. I measured 54 cm which means the pillowcase needs to end up at 54  x 54 cm. In order to get the size of the individual squares you also need to consider that each square needs 1 cm seam allowance on all of its sides. Since I wanted three squares per row/column, I ended up at 20 x 20 cm per square; if you deduct the seam allowances from the sides, you end up at 54 cm. If you make yourself a template from cardboard, the cutting out process will be fairly quick!



2. Jetzt neun Quadrate à 20 x 20 cm ausschneiden. Anordnen, wie es euch gefällt und ein Foto davon machen und evtl. ausdrucken. Hilft sehr beim anschließenden Zusammennähen! Als nächstes habe ich das obere linke Quadrat auf das darunterliegende rechts auf rechts gelegt und festgesteckt. Verfahrt so mit allen drei oberen 'Pärchen'.



2. Now cut out nine squares at 20 x 20 cm each. Arrange as you please and take a photo of it and maybe even print it out. It helps a lot when it comes to the sewing part! Next up I took the upper left square and laid the square beneath it on top, right sides facing. Pin in place. Do this with all upper pairs.



3. Festnähen. Anschließend das untere Quadrat auf das nun mittlere auf rechts legen, feststecken und nähen.



3. Sew in place. Now take the bottom square, lay it onto the middle one, pin and sew.



4. Jetzt hat man drei Reihen, die man wieder aufeinander legt (rechts auf rechts) und an den langen Seiten zusammennähen kann. Schon ist das Vorderteil fertig! Jetzt noch bügeln, damit alles schön flach und nett aussieht.



4. Now you have three rows that you pin together on the long sides (right side on right side) and sew. That makes your front complete! Iron the seams flat for a nicer finish.






5. Nun geht's an das Rückteil, bestehend aus zwei unifarbenen Stoffteilen, die sich überlappen - so kann man einfach das Kissen reinstopfen und auch wieder rausholen, ohne mit Knöpfen oder Reißverschlüssen hantieren zu müssen. Meine Teile haben sich 15 cm überlappt. Teil 1 war (glaube ich) 60 x 30 cm groß. Dies nun - nachdem man die Seite, die nicht festgenäht werden wird gesäumt hat - feststecken am Vorderteil (rechts auf rechts) an dessen lange Seite. Teil 2 war 60 x 45 cm groß und hat das kürzere überlappt. Wenn beide Teile an den jeweils langen Seiten festgesteckt sind, nun auch deren kurze Seiten feststecken. Dabei ist Hilfe von der Katze immer sehr erwünscht!



5. Now it comes to the back part, consisting of two solid-coloured fabric pieces that overlap - this way, it is easy to get the pillow in and out without having to deal with zips and buttons. My parts overlapped 15 cm. I believe part 1 was 60 x 30 cm; after hemming the side that wouldn't be sewn onto the front piece, pin onto the front piece (right sides facing) but secure only the long part for now. Part 2 was 60 x 45 cm in size and therefore overlapped the shorter piece. When the two pieces are pinned in place with their long sides, also pin the shorter sides together. Help from the cats is always appreciated!





6. Einmal drumherum festnähen und die Ecken kappen. Wenden und - fertig! ich hoffe, die Anleitung war nicht allzu verworren, aber ich hoffe, die Bilder helfen genug!



6. Sew around the whole pillowcase once and chop off the corners. Turn the pillowcase right side out and done! I hope this tutorial wasn't too confusing but I think the pictures help a lot!

Ich hatte ein tolles langes Wochenende! Familiengeburtstag, Turnier, lange Ausritte am Abend und Essen gehen sind ausgewählte Highlights - auch wenn es 'nur' vier freie Tage waren habe ich das Gefühl, eine ganze Woche freigehabt zu haben...heut geht's second hand-shoppen nach der Arbeit, hach, das Leben kann so schön sein!



I had a great long bank holiday weekend! Family birthday, horse show, long hack in the evening and eating out are just selected highlights - even it was 'only' four free days I feel like I had a whole week off...today after work, I'm off for some second hand shopping, life can be good!



Der Schal, den ich hier trage, war ursprünglich gar kein Loop-Schal - ein Post dazu kommt aber noch! Kleid und Strumpfhose sind ja nichts Besonderes, aber der Pulli ist mein neues Lieblingsteil. Die Farbe ist toll und das Strickmuster; Aidan meinte schon, er sieht fast aus wie ein Kettenhemd, ha! Ich habe ihn von Sieh an! und es gibt ihn auch noch in vier anderen Farben!



The scarf I am wearing here was originally not a loop scarf - I will write a post about that soon though! Dress and tights are nothing special, but the jumper is my recent favourite item. I like the colour and the knitting pattern; Aidan already said it looks like a chain armour, ha! I got it from Sieh an! and they have it in four other colours!

Der Mai war ein toller Monat! Viel Sonnenschein, viel Reiten, ein Wochenendtrip, eine Geburtstagsfeier, Betriebsausflug, Reitseminar...mehr erwarte ich gar nicht von einem Monat! Auf geht's mit frischem Schwung in den Juni!

May was such a wonderful month! Plenty of sunshine, lots of horse riding, a weekend trip, a birthday party, works outing, riding seminar...I don't expect more than that from a month! I'm all for having an equally nice June!
