Sei es für ein Nickerchen tagsüber oder im Flugzeug, manchmal ist so eine Schlafmaske wirklich Gold wert. Und das Beste: sie ist ganz einfach zu nähen! Ihr braucht: Baumwollstoff, Fleece, Stecknadeln, Faden, Gummilitze, Schere. Ich habe mich an dieser Anleitung hier orientiert.



Whether for a nap during the day or in a plane, a sleeping mask is sometimes worth its weight in gold. And the best part: it is quite easy to make your own! You'll need: cotton, fleece, pins, thread, elastic and scissors. I used this instruction to guide me.



1. Zuerst schneidet ihr Vorder- und Rückteil der Maske aus - freihand zeichnen geht gut, und ihr habt dann genau die Größe, die ihr für euer Gesicht braucht. Um den Gummi hinten zu verdecken, messt einmal von Schläfe zu Schläfe und addiert 7cm - dies ist die Länge des Schlauches, der etwa 6-7 cm breit sein sollte. Nun die lange Seite zusammennähen mit der schönen Seite innen.



1. First, cut out front and back of the mask - you can just draw it freehand and you'll get exactly the size you need for your face. In order to cover up the elastic, measure from temple to temple and add 7cm - this is the length of the sleeve that should be about 6-7cm wide. Now sew together the long side, pretty side inside.



2. Nach dem Nähen die Naht in die Mitte bringen, glatt bügeln (ich nehme mal wieder mein Glätteisen!) und die Gummilitze (ein bisschen kürzer als die Länge Schläfe - Schläfe) hindurchfädeln.



2. After sewing, bring the seam to the middle and iron (I used my straightener again!) and thread the elastic (a little shorter than the distance temple - temple) through the sleeve.



3. Nun Fleece und Baumwollstoff (die schönen Seiten nach innen) aufeinander legen und dazwischen das Gummiband legen, so, dass Gummi und Schlauch an den Seiten etwas rausgucken und beim Nähen mit befestigt werden. Das ist ein bisschen fummelig, auch weil die Naht beim Eindprodukt natürlich innen (also am Kopf) liegen muss! Außen entlang steppen, oben eine Öffnung lassen.




3. Now lay the cotton and fleece right dies up on top of each other and lay the elastic + sleeve inside, in a way that elastic and sleeve hang out to the sides a little and will be fastened when sewing. 4. Wie abgebildet kleine Dreiecke an den Kurven ausschneiden, damit die Maske besser liegt. Umkrempeln und die Öffnung per Hand zunähen. Wer mag, kann noch einmal außen entlang steppen für die Optik. Fertig!




4. As pictured, cut out little triangles at the curves to make the mask lay better. Turn around and sew closed the opening by hand. If you want, sew on the outside again for a nicer look. Done!

Nachdem ich hier schon eine Stickrahmen-Deko vorgestellt hatte, kommt hier eine zweite Idee: Reihen mit diversen Sticktechniken und Farben. Dauert eeeeewig, sieht aber als Gesamtergebnis toll aus!




I have already presented an embroidery hoop decoration before, and this is a second idea: rows over rows with different variations. Takes foreeeever, but is worth it in the end!

Heute mal nicht mit Pferde-, sondern Gepardprint. Zumindest nehme ich mal an, dass das Tier auf meinem Shirt ein Gepard ist? Auf jeden Fall kombiniert mit alten Favoriten meinerseits: weiter Cardigan und weiße Hose, die ich einfach viel zu wenig trage!




No horse but a cheetah print today. At least I think that the animal on my shirt is a cheetah? Anyways, combined with old favourites of mine: wide cardigan and white trousers that I simply don't wear enough!




Ja, derzeit gibt es viel Hosenoutfits auf dem Blog zu sehen - liegt aber daran, dass ich die zur Zeit einfach gern trage! Es wird schon wieder eine Kleider- und Rockphase folgen. Was tragt ihr so am liebsten derzeit?
