Anfang der Woche hatten wir wunderschönes Wetter (und ich einen Tag frei) und die Kombi führt dan meist dazu, dass Outfitbilder geschossen werden. Heute mal ganz woanders als gewohnt, auf (wir hofften zumindest) stillgelegten Gleisen. Ich finde sie sind toll geworden, vor allem mit der Sonne, deswegen gibt es auch heute ein paar mehr!



At the beginning of the week we had fantastic weather (and me a day off) and this combination usually results in outfit pictures being taken. In a different location this time, on (we hoped) abandoned train tracks. I think these turned out great with the sun and all and that's why there's quite a few of them!





Relativ ungewohnt in Jeans, aber die sind einfach sooo bequem und passen zu wirklich allem. Neues Lieblingsteil, definitiv. Ich weiß noch gar nicht recht, was ich mit meinem Wochenende anstelle - ist das toll, so eine Freiheit zu haben! Und ihr?




Relatively unusually in jeans, but these are truly so comfortable and really go with everything. New favourite item, definitely. I don't quite know yet what to do with the weekend - isn't it great though to have such freedom! And you?

Es gibt ja immer so schwierige Kandidaten, was das Schenken angeht. Duftkerzen sind ja (meiner Meinung nach) die klassischen Verlegenheitsgeschenke, aber manchmal fällt mir einfach nichts anderes ein! Um das Ganze dann doch noch ins Akzeptable zu bugsieren, habe ich zwei Teelichthalter etwas verziert.



There are always people very difficult to find gifts for. Scented candles are (at least in my opinion) always a little bit of embarrassing and unpersonal gifts, but sometimes I really don't have any other idea! In order to make the whole thing a little more acceptable, I decided to decorate my two tea-light holders.



Dazu habe ich zunächst ein paar Knöpfe auf Sisalschnur gefädelt, diese dann mit sparsam dosierten Mengen Kraftkleber am Teelichthalter befestigt. Dazu Dufteelichter. Sieht doch ganz gut aus, oder?



For this, I firstly threaded some buttons on sisal string and attached this setup with sparingly used super glue onto the tea-light holder. Add some scented tea-lights. Doesn't look too bad now, does it?

Heute ist ein ganz besonderer Tag - zumindest für mich und die aus meinem Umfeld. Heut werde ich offiziell ein Jahr älter, praktisch ist es ja nur ein Tag, den man altert. Wie auch immer, heut wird besonders gut gegessen und getrunken, so gehört sich das...



Today is a special day - at least for me and those in my close surroundings. Today, I officially become a year older, practically it is of course only a day I'm ageing. Whatever, today is for particularly good food and drinks, just like it should be...



Das Kleid ist auch besonders - handgemacht für mich von mydearlove. Ich habe mich für das Modell "Shelby" entschieden, es ist mir aber ehrlich schwer gefallen. Die Auswahl ist echt riesig und die Klamotten sind alle so toll! Man schickt denen seine Maße und die schneidern das Kleid dann eigens für einen selber - so einen Service hat man selten!




The dress is also very special - handmade from mydearlove. I decided to go for the style 'Shelby', but I really did have a hard time deciding. The selection is truly huge and all the items are so beautiful! You send them your measurements and they sew the dress specifically for you - if that is not good service...

Stoffservietten sind eine tolle und einfach gemachte (wenn auch etwas zeitaufwändigere) Geschenkidee, oder auch für die eigene Dinnerparty. Ihr braucht: zwei verschiedene Stoffe, Pappe, Schere, Schneiderkreide/Kuli und passenden Faden.



Fabric napkins are a great and easy-to-make (even though a little time-consuming) gift idea, or for your own dinner party. You'll need: two different kinds of fabric, cardboard, scissors, tailor's chalk/pen and thread.



1. Zunächst aus der Pappe eine Vorlage schneiden - ich habe mich für 21 x 21 cm entschieden. Dann aus dem "äußeren" Stoff (ihr werdet sehen, was ich meine) ein Quadrat schneiden, in das das Pappequadrat mit 3 cm Nahtzugabe passt. Aus dem "inneren" Stoff ein Quadrat schneiden, das genau der Pappe entspricht. Die Pappe hilft als Schablone ungemein, vor allem, wenn man viele Servietten herstellt. Dann das "innere" Quadrat auf das "äußere" legen und doppelt umschlagen. Zuerst nur zwei gegenüberliegende Seiten.



1. First off, cut a template from the cardboard - I choose 21 x 21 cm. Then cut a square from the 'outer' fabric (you'll see what I mean) in which the cardboard square fits including 3cm seam allowance. Cut a sqaure from the 'inner' fabric exactly the size of the cardboard. The cardboard square helps tremendously as a template, especially when you are making many napkins. Then lay the 'inner' square onto the 'outer' one and fold the fabric over twice on two opposing sides.



2. Nun wie auf dem Foto die restlichen zwei Seiten auch einschlagen. Durch diese Reihenfolge bekommt man schön saubere Ecken! Mit der Nähmaschine einmal rum nähen.



2. Now fold the other two sides as shown on the photo. Doing it in this order, you get nice clean corners! Now sew around with the sewing machine.



3. Jetzt noch bügeln, macht wirklich einen großen Unterschied! Und fertig seid ihr. Ich habe drei verschiedene Sets genäht: geblümt, kariert und na ja, halt mit einem Durcheinander-Muster.



3. Now iron them, makes all the difference! And you're done. I made three different sets: floral, checked and well, an all-over-the-place pattern.

Und wir sind bereits im März - meinem Geburtstagsmonat! Also, wer mir was schicken will - immer her damit, haha! Der Februar hat und ja wettertechnisch sehr verwöhnt und die Outfitbilder konnten alle ohne Frostbeulen geschossen werden. Sehr schön!

And we have reached the month of March - my birthday month! So, feel free to shower me with presents, haha! February has quite spoiled us in regards to weather and temperatures and the outfit pictures could be taken without frostbite. Nice!
